NATURAL HERITAGE

TECER MOUNTAINS
Tecer Mountains in Ulas district are significant botanical areas with rare found plants more than 200. " Ferula Orientalis " and " Typha Shuttleworthii " are the most important breeds. It's also the only natural environment where the Physoptychis purpurescens breeds in the world.

LAKE GÖKPINAR
Lake Gökpinar in Gürün district is one of the most favorite promenades in Sivas. It's famous with delicious trouts. There are accommodation and F&B facilities around.

LAKE TÖDÜRGE
It's about 26 km to Zara district and the biggest lake in Sivas with two islands on. It's one of the few lakes that 17 kinds of fish live in. It's also an important Bird Watching area. It's suitibale for diving.

GÖLOVA
Gölova is an important bird watching area. There are many endemic bird and plant kinds in the area.

MOUNTAIN PLATEAUS AND PROMENADES
There are several high plateaus in Sivas and its environment. The plateaus are the recreational summertime places of the local people. Some of them are significant with their facilities besides their natural beauty.

EGRIÇIMEN
20 km to Koyulhisar district it's been used for 500 years. Dumanlica, Sariçiçek, Kalinpinar, Arpacik, Kengercik, Topalan and Basyayla are the other significant plateus in the area.

YILDIZELI PLATEAUS
Yildizeli district with a high altitude has many plateaus like Çamlibel, Toraç Tepesi, Yildiz Dagi, Yusufoglan, Avcipinar, Yolkaya, Alaca, Belcik, Karalar and Esmebasi.

UZUNYAYLA
Uzunyayla is a group of high plateaus spreading in a belt of 1500- 2100 meters high in between Gürün, Çetinkaya, Ulas, Sarkisla and Gemerek.

AKINCILAR PLATEAUS
In Akincilar district, there is almost no other flat area except the Ezbider Plain on the Kelkit Basin . However, the highland culture developed in this town at the skirts of Kizildag, is still alive today. Gökalan, Solhun, Hishis, Besoluk, Örtülü ve Killik highlands are important as promenades and also as long tracking courses.

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING & TREKKING
There are plenty natural areas for mountain climbing and trekking. Yildiz Mountains, Degirmenalti, Sugul Valley, Çat Forest, Akdag, Avsiören, Davlunca, Sizir Waterfall are just a few.
There are 33 peaks between 1,500 - 2,000 m , 29 peaks between 2,000 - 5,000 m and 11 peaks over 2.500 m . These are only the named ones. With the unnamed ones there are nearly 100 peaks in Sivas.

Kelkit River is most suitable for rafting in Susehri district.
